Sharing another 'bald Rachel' pic...from summer 1999 (1st year of chemo) at age 16 in San Diego. I talked an airbrushing guy by the beach into airbrushing my head in a sunset design. In Cali, everyone thought it was cool and artsy and more normal than in the Midwest. I felt like I wasn't stared at for being bald, but for having art on my head! I remember a few strangers telling me how they liked it. I was posing with my modeling pose for the camera. Good times!
Today, I am grateful for: enjoying and having fun with the bald head when I had it, a productive day and a fun 1st bday party tonight, family and friends.

LOL @ the expression. That's the one you were telling me about yes? I'm so glad I got to see it! That's bad ass Rach. I wish I was more creative with my baldness besides just having FIERCE accessories.
First of all, I am loving the blog. Second of all, I love it when you talk about the baldness b/c when I met you, you were bald. I never knew you "B.C." (before cancer)! When I see you with hair, I am still so startled! I loved your bald head! But I love your lovely head of hair too!
Dee-Yes that's the one! Are you bald right now? Can't remember...oops.
Anonymous-wish you would have left your name :). Maybe next time?
Wow I never thought of painting stuff on my head. Well if I ever do chemo again I will definitely try.
I have a question for you though. When your cancer came back.... did you try experimental chemos? If so was it any different than the chemo from your firts diagnos.
Rachel - I am signing in as anonymous b/c I can't log back in! Sorry! It's Sara Clark!
Nick-Yes, face paint works wonderfully and also, I'll write you back on your blog!
Sara-Thanks so much! I'll email you back soon too!
