There are so many circumstances that determine my route

I was going through some old poetry notebooks/journals to look for some poetry, for a scholarship proposal, that is requested. I decided to just pick a random poem from the past to share...

As I drive on the highway
There are lanes to choose from
Fast and slow
And back again
I see exits along the way
To pick from too
Sometimes I am forced
To go off the road
When I least want to
There are so many circumstances
That determine my route
On this road of life
A lot of choices
I do not have
But I take advantage and
Choose when I can!

Today, I am grateful for another day to catch up before another week of school, a workout class that I like but at the same time being challenging, for hugs, family, friends and God.

I SO love it when I have a choice!!! That choosing your spouse...that is just about the most major decision ever. Do good on that one, and life is SO much better. Sometimes when I feel like my life is being determined by my circumstances, I look next to me at the man by my side, and I am so incredibly thankful that I chose well on that one. I can handle most anything with a safe and loving home.

*hugs* to my beautiful friend.
