Prayers

We found out this week a family friend/my friend's dad was diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoma-Intravascular Large B-Cell Lymphoma. He is in the ICU right now with many complications (it took awhile for them to diagnose him as it was hiding from all the usual medical tests).

He is a special man to MANY people-always helping others. Please pray for him and his family!

Today, I am grateful for prayers, family, friends, God and a really special day ahead of me!

Rather than asking for prayers, give friends and acquaintances ideas on how they can HELP this family during this battle.

Actions speak louder than words or prayers.

My view has always been the 'Almighty' (be they God, Allah, Buddha, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster) put all of us on this planet to help each other out, and not just 'ask for help from upstairs'.

That's just my 1/50 of a dollar.

Thanks, Michael-I see where you are coming from but prayers have been HUGE in my life and this family is asking for prayers right now.

So doing nothing directly for this person is better than actually helping them, here and now, in their battle?

Sorry, I don't get it; and that is not how I've ever lived my life.

That is not what I am saying at all. I agree that doing things to help people is very important (I am so grateful for all the outpouring of things people did for me and my family when I was sick) but I also think prayer is very important.

And I happen to think actions speak infinitely louder than words or prayer.

Belief and faith are most effective when the result in action.

We can agree to disagree. That's what it is all about.

True, but I also mostly agree with you- all of this I agree with...
