The Wellness Community (& gifts)

Sing, my sister, sing
Let your voice be heard
What won’t kill you will make you strong
Sing, my sister, sing
You don’t need to disrespect yourself again
Don't hide your light behind your fear
Now women can be strong
You’ve known it all along
What you need is what you haven’t found
So…Sing, my sister, sing
Let your voice be heard
What won’t kill you will make you strong
Sing, my sister, sing

After a somewhat long and stressful day at school (no need to elaborate on negative stuff), I had a refreshingly inspiring night and some gifts...Intangible gifts of friends-new and old-and a CD, Annie Lennox-Songs from a Mass Destruction, in the mail from a special friend and relative-inspired by this very blog (lyrics above from the CD)!

I also revisited The Wellness Community tonight to visit with a support group that I had 'graduated' from. It was great to see everyone and catch up and feed off of each other's hope, optimism and talk through tough stuff!

I highly recommend that if you are going through cancer stuff, to check out The Wellness Community. It truly has something for everyone and has locations throughout the country! Everything is free of charge.

As I was feeling pumped up and renewed from Group, I got my mail and saw the CD and remembered why I am obsessed with life...Just as I had a stressful day feeling overwhelmed, it turns around and things look better!

Today, I am grateful for: gifts-tangible and not, music and hope, friends and family

Love,
Rachel
