Music Please

So, this is a late post...I was obviously feeling like I have more energy today--art therapy, lunch with the new (almost) in-laws, art (therapyish) or just art date with a sweet friend and beyond...

I want to have some interactive stuff with my readers--to be able to hear from YOU. I want to know your favorite bands/songs/singers/whatever. The music in my IPOD and on the radio (as usual) is getting old. So, share, share, share. Click "Comments" and leave the information! It's an easy way to help :).

I truly listen to everything and welcome whatever!

Then, I'll compile the list in a week or so and post them and we'll all benefit! Yay!

In the meantime, have a great weekend...

Today, I am grateful for: Art, bonding, friends, family and God.

Rach

Okay, girl....mix cd's are my thing. My personal favorite songs: "As Is" - Ani DiFranco; "What's a girl to do" - Bat for Lashes; anything by Rilo Kiley, Fiona Apple, "Heal Over" - KT Tunstall; "Shake It" - Metro Station; Regina Spektor, Tori Amos......I spend WAY too much money on iTunes.

My pick is:
I Just Want To Celebrate
By Rare Earth

"I just want to celebrate another day of livin'
I just want to celebrate another day of life"

Ingrid's pick is:
We Are The Champions by Queen

"I've paid my dues -
Time after time -
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime -
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand kicked in my face -
But I've come through

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting - till the end -
We are the champions -
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions - of the world - "

Hmm..I'm not sure I'll be much help in this department because I'm not really listening to anything right now. I do like Josh Groban and at this time of year for some reason I like to Andrea Bocelli..I've no idea why!!! If you want to know some of what I do listen to, you can scroll through my playlist on my blog...I haven't changed it recently but it is some of what I do like when it's on the radio.

By the way, I "stole" your Jimmy Buffet quote for my blog today (Abreast)...in conjunction with what I was talking about and I did credit you with having posted it first. I liked the quote...it works on so many levels.

Rachel,
This post makes me happy becaues I too have been trying to get into new music. I just got an ipod for christmas so perfect timing.. here's some new stuff I've been listening to. Maybe when I can get back in town we can get together and swap music?
- A Fine Frenzy
- Mika - really funky fun music, sounds like an updated version of Queen?
- Laura Bell Bundy- She's a broadway star who has her own
country music CD. I don't listen to country but I LOVE her stuff, its fun. She has a myspace music profile
-Matchbox Twety- their new song is getting played out on the radio but they have some other pretty cool songs on their album.

Well that's all I have for now! Hope this helps!
- Diana

Rachel, I love your blog. Let me say that I agree with Jaime on Rilo Kiley (and Jenny Lewis's solo album). Also, if you like Regina Spektor and Tori Amos, check out St. Vincent, who is really Annie Clark, a guitarist/songwriter.

Yes I'm finally leaving some music choices! Since I like all music you may or may not like these! Josh Hoge (you may have trouble finding because he just got signed but he does have a website where you can listen). I saw him live in October and his cd has been in my car ever since. His brother Will Hoge...an Indie Rocker whose cd I also like alot. Sia who has a new cd out that I have not heard all the way through but I love Breathe Me. Feist's newest cd is great. I still like the Arcade Fire and Wolfmother and The Hush Sound. And my newest favorite is Muscles for fun upbeat music that's awesome to work out too! THis is totally all over the board but all in my Ipod so hopefully you find something you like!
