I've Been Painting!

So I finally got out the (dusty) paintbrushes last night...I was experimenting. About a year ago, I used gesso to affix handmade paper to canvas and last night I took eye droppers and dripped acrylic ink while changing the direction of the canvas from time to time. The ink became a nice contrast to the more organic, circular ridges on the handmade paper (as you can see in the close-up pic). Very therapeutic, fun and long overdue...

It's abstract and an experiment and I'm happy how it turned out but I'd love to hear people's honest opinions-no need to be nice just to be nice ;).

The painting is about the craziness of life and resembles never-ending roads, at least that's what I saw but again, I love to hear what other people see in my artwork!

Today, I am grateful for: running so many errands with Gabe's grandma for the wedding, getting some fabulous ideas for reception table stuff, cooking dinner tonight for my family with Gabe and God, family and friends!

Ciao bella!

Congrats on your engagement btw, I haven't said that yet and I don't know why. Gah, brain fart!

I really, really love that. I really do. The close-up confirmed it for me.

I have similar artwork in my home and while your description is fitting I see something a little different. But isn't that the fun of art? It's all in the eye of the beholder, and everything can be changed when a new set of eyes looks on.

You should be proud of yourself, it's amazing.

Hey, I like it! It reminds me of something that belongs in the mid-century, modern art section of the art museum! Something you should do, if you have the time and want to do it is do something just like this but on a black background? I'm not sure how it would work with your idea of life and never ending roads, but I think that these colors would look really cool on a black background and then you could present them together.. Just an idea! Hope you are doing well!

Diana-Thanks too. I really like your idea. How's your project coming? Miss ya.
