Just checking to say that I am feeling grateful each day to be in graduate school for art therapy and counseling...it's been a long road but I'm finally here :).
I also was able to teach a children's art class at the hospital where I was treated to children in the hospital. It was a great group and I even got to see an old friend's family (even though it wasn't for a good reason).
I was asked to donate a couple of art pieces to an art therapy benefit and auction. It was a fabulous event and I was glad to be a part of it!
Another speaking engagement (locally) went well in August and I was just as inspired by the audience I met afterward!
Today, I am grateful for: God, new friends, old friends, family, hope, grad school, amazing people in my life that have helped me and continue to help me...and so much more!

Your story is so inspiring and gives hope. My stepson was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma of the left pelvic last summer at age 16. He went through intense chemo and then radiation. He's been cancer free until his latest scans Oct. 11; chest CT revealed metastasis to the lungs. They caught it extremely early and are assuring us it is treatable. He's going through chemo again but it's not as harsh as the 1st time. We were told you have to be in remission for the autogolus stem cell harvest. Is that what you experienced? Again, I'm so grateful for people like you who are willing to share their story and spread hope.

Thanks for your kind words. I will keep your stepson in my prayers. As far as the auto SCT, yes, they put me into remission again with heavy chemo, then took out stem cells from me and then did the transplant soon after.
